Serious Games

During my studies, and mostly in the final years, I worked on four games, all with my fellow game designer and programming partner.

Despite all these projects being from over ten years ago, I would still like the chance to get involved in Serious Gaming. The power of using a game to let people learn otherwise hard to grasp concepts, or built games for people with restricted cognitive abilities.

Only the two games in the middle were finished games (despite my artwork being "not great"). The Imagine Cup Entry never went past a somewhat playable proof of concept, where The Broken Rose Diary needed more missions and polishing.

Plan of Action

The game teaches them, using an actual project they're doing, how to allocate the right amount of time and team members to various tasks, and how some tasks have to be completed to be able to continue. (two man team)

Programme of Requirements

Students learn to use desk research and consult field experts. Survey throwing, a mini game where players had to fire surveys at the right audiences. Doing all three successfully unlocks useful information. (two man team)

Broken Rose Diary

A film noir style puzzle relying heavily on audio cues playable by blind and visually impaired people, showcasing what it's like to be visually impaired. I mainly worked on recording, editing and guiding the voice-overs.
